Recipe: Honey Oatmeal Bread Machine Bread

This bread is SO easy to make, because you make it in a bread machine. This is Eva's favorite bread. A whole loaf might last two days in our house.

Honey Oatmeal Bread

1 cup very warm water
1/4 cup honey
3 tablespoons canola oil
1 large egg
1/2 cup regular rolled oats
1 cup whole wheat flour
1 1/2 cups unbleached all purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 package (2 1/4 teaspoons) active dry yeast

Put all of the ingredients into an oil sprayed bread machine pan in the order listed above. Set the bread machine for - whole wheat, 2 lbs and medium crust. Let the bread sit in the pan for 5 minutes after you remove it from the bread machine. Then dump it onto a wire rack to cool.

It takes my bread machine 3 1/2 hours to make this bread.

It's that easy!

This looks delicious. I wish I had a bread machine. I'm going to get one in 2 1/2 years. What kind do you recommend? I just noticed you got a pandigital scanner. I used one to scan in all my old photos before we moved. I love it!

I don't have any advice to give about bread machines. The one I have now was supposed to be super quality, but I like it less than the cheap one I had before.
